Choosing the Right Outdoor Wedding Facilities
If you and that very special person are leaning to celebrate those magical moments in an outdoor setting, the next step is the venue choice. Outdoor weddings can be as fun as your imagination and budget allow. But not all outdoor wedding facilities are created equal. Just because someone rents out his/her barn at a good price doesn’t mean it is the best choice. Little questions like where will the chairs come from, and who’s going to set up and take down after the ceremony come into play. What happens in case of inclement weather is an important consideration.
Like Broadway, and unlike baseball, the show must go on. If the facility doesn’t have a weather related back up plan, it may become more interesting than you anticipated. While you can certainly rent a tent, make sure it’s sturdy so it won’t flip over, and can withstand wind. Speaking about the tent, you have to think about the dance floor, it’s hard to do the soft shoe on the grass. Check the availability of restrooms, and an adequate place for the wedding party to get dressed.
You will probably want music whether it is a band or a DJ; inquire if there is there is proper electrical service to the site. You will want to make sure the venue is assessable and relatively easy to find for your guests. If you plan to serve adult beverages make sure the venue allows it and what restrictions are involved. Another considerations is where will out of town guests stay? A little planning on the front end prevents future headaches so you can enjoy yourself stress free.
